Methodology of Educational Research (ZKL300)

Course topics: 1. Specifics of research in the natural and social sciences 2. Pedagogical research - underpinning pedagogical theory and linking it to pedagogical practice 3. Key aspects of research activity: research of information sources, research aims and problems, hypotheses - qualified assumptions 4. Research project design: stages, research sample, research methods and tools, statistical analyses 5. Testing statistical hypotheses. Parametric one- and two-sample tests.Nonparametric tests. 6. Analysis of variance (ANOVA). 7. Vector of random variables, covariance and correlation matrix. Regression analysis. 8. Post-conceptual aspects of research activity: verification or falsification of assumptions, partial interpretation, analysis of other possibilities 9. The genesis and organization of the research report. 10. Presentation and publication of results with emphasis on their practical application.
