Course topics: This course focuses on clarifying the relationship between the audio-oral language of the Slovak nation (Slovak language) and the visual-motor language of the Slovak deaf community (Slovak Sign Language), with an emphasis on mastering the practical translation of sentences and texts from Slovak written text into Slovak sign Language at varying levels of difficulty. The student will improve the linguistic skill of translating sentences and texts between Slovak written language and Slovak sign language. Topics: 1. selected current texts from newspapers, magazines, internet, 2. selected currenttexts from the world of the deaf, 3. politics, 4. education, 5. healthcare, 6. court, 7. art, 8. Slovak culture, 9. sport, 10. life of deaf persons.
