Social Law Protection of Students (XNPPb121)

Course topics: Social protection of students as subject focus mainly on the status of the student in social security system: in social insurance system – conditions for participation in sickness insurance, pension insurance, unemployment insurance, public health insurance and benefit entitlement plus health care; for example student in maternity, student as a dependent child, school leaver in system of employment services; in state social support system - conditions for providing of state allowances for students; in social assistance system – student in social or material hardship. This subject involves sphere of academical education, providing scholarships and loans to students and characteristics of family and social policy. The thematic scope of the teaching: 1. Social policy and its characteristics (principles, functions, subjects and social policy instruments). 2. The right to education and its international and constitutional dimension. 3. The status of students in undergraduate education system. 4. Characteristics of the health system (principles, functions, subjects). 5. Healthcare (classification, availability, range of payment). 6. The basic scheme of health insurance. 7. Characteristics of social insurance (social contingencies and their classification, insurance subsystems, categorization of participants in social security). 8. Insurance and benefit relationships in social insurance. 9. Allowances for student in pregnancy and maternity. 10. Institutes dependent child and its application to student. 11. Unfavourable health of child - student. 12. Student with impaired health in the social assistance system. 13. Student status in labour-law relationships (separately in employment relationship and in Agreements outside employment relationship). 14. The register of job seekers, Graduation practice and mediated job trough employment office. 15. Solving of material hardship student.
