Course topics: 1. Medical law and its sources, medical ethics. 2. European health care law, cross border healthcare. 3. Provision of health care, patient rights, agreement on the provision of health care. 4. Health care providers and health professionals, performance of the medical profession, trade unions, education of health professionals. 5. Health care in special cases - assisted reproduction, abortion, collection, transfer and storage of cells, tissues and organs, sterilization. 6. Instruction and informed consent, limits of autonomy, refusal of informed consent, healthcare without informed consent, consent for incapacitated persons. 7. Medical records and e-health. 8. Biomedical research. 9. Medicines and medical devices, authorization, prescribing, reimbursement and advertising of medicines. 10. Health insurance, principles of public health insurance, rights and obligations of the insured and the health insurance company. 11. Supervision of health care and responsibility in its provision. 12. Patient compensation in case of provider failure, selected aspects of criminal liability, alternative dispute resolution models.
