Course topics: 1) Basic equipment of medical laboratories; Microscopy, types of microscopes, principles of microscopic techniques 2) Optical and mass spectrometry, principles of operation and its use in clinical practice and biomedical research 3) Imonoanalytical methods and their application 4) DNA chips, principles of operation and their use in experimental and clinical medicine 5) Centrifugation techniques, types of centrifuges, methods of centrifugation and their applications 6) Chromatographic techniques, their division, principles and applications 7) Heating devices: water baths, thermoblocks, cyclers, incubators 8) Principles of operation and biomedical applications of flow cytometry 9) PCR boxes and laminar boxes, principles of operation and their applications in clinical practice and biomedical research 10) Electrophoresis and accessories, visualization after electrophoresis 11) Point of Care testing (POCT) - advantages and disadvantages 12) Principle and modifications of PCR, use in practice
