Course topics: 1. Subject of criminology, its methodology and methods. 2. History of criminology, its relation to other sciences and its practical significance for a lawyer. 3. Basic criminological theories, development, characteristics, current state. 4. Criminology and criminological research in the Slovak Republic. 5. Crime, its quantitative and qualitative characteristics. 6. Etiology of crime. 7. Perpetrators of crimes and recidivism. 8. Victims of crime (victimology). 9. Crime forecasting. 10. Prevention of crime and its possible criminal sanction by means of retributive and restorative justice. 11. Criminological aspects of selected types of crime.
