Course topics: The course combines knowledge of the theory of law, civil law and civil procedural law. Within the mentioned areas, an analysis of doctrinal views, legal regulation and judicial practice in relation to specific manifestations of the given legal institutes will take place. The course will focus mainly on the following topics: - historical-legal analysis of civil procedure institutes, - the system of sources of civil procedural law and their mutual relations, the influence of material sources on the creation of civil procedure standards, - current doctrinal issues of civil procedural law, - analysis of the judiciary and the judicial system in the Slovak Republic in the context of the continental legal system, - application of the principles of civil procedural law in the Slovak legislation, - dispute resolution theory, integrated dispute resolution system and its impact on law enforcement, - cross-claim, doctrine \"estoppel\", standard of proof and other institutes absent in Slovak legislation, - process attack, process defense and process tactics and strategy - international legal aspects of the civil process, - theory of illegal evidence, - efficiency of the civil process, - application law problems in non-dispute proceedings, - seeking a balance between the interests of the creditor and the protection of the debtor in the recovery of pecuniary performance in enforcement proceedings and in proceedings under the Bankruptcy and Restructuring Act; sequestration. - interdisciplinary aspects of out-of-court dispute resolution, - comparative analysis of institutes in arbitration proceedings. Within the mentioned areas, an analysis of doctrinal views, legal regulation and judicial practice in relation to specific manifestations of the given legal institutes will take place. Emphasis will be placed on comparative and historical excursions, as well as on economic analysis of law in civil proceedings.
