Course topics: 1. The concept of a constitution. 2. Constitutional development in our territory in the 20th Century. 3. The Constitution of the Slovak Republic and the principles of a democratic rule of law. 4. The relationship of constitutional law to international and European laws; characteristics of statehood. 5. Basic concepts in the field of human rights protection. 6. Right to life, prohibition of torture, inhuman treatment and penalty. 7. Right to personal liberty and prohibition of forced labour, right to privacy I. 8. The right to privacy II and the right to own property. 9. Freedom of expression and other political rights. 10. Minority rights and economic, social and cultural rights. 11. Right to judicial protection I. 12. The right to judicial protection II and the right to environmental protection.
