Course topics: 1. The position of a police officer in criminal proceedings - the difference among an authorized officer, an investigator, an operative and a criminal investigator. 2. Execution of detention by police officers - detention, searches. 3. Basic actions done by a police officer during pre-trial proceedings - initiation of criminal prosecution, indictment, interrogation. 4. The position of the prosecutor in criminal proceedings - a look into the organization of the prosecutor\'s office. 5. Basic rights and obligations of a prosecutor in pre-trial proceedings. 6. Basic rights and obligations of a prosecutor in trial proceedings. 7. The position of a lawyer in criminal proceedings - a look into the organization of advocacy in the Slovak Republic and the EU. 8. Basic rights and obligations of a lawyer in relation to the accused person. 9. Evidence in criminal proceedings from the point of view of a lawyer - possibilities of a lawyer with regard to securing, proposing evidence in criminal proceedings and the issue of adversarial aspect of evidence. 10. The position of a judge in criminal proceedings - a look into the organization of the judiciary. 11. Basic rights and obligations of a judge in criminal proceedings - phase of pre-trial proceedings (orders for detention acts, information and technical means, decision on detention). 12. Basic rights and obligations of a judge in criminal proceedings - phase of trial proceedings.
