The Basics of Slovak Sign Language (XSJKNB307)

Course topics: Basic concepts of the theory of linguistic culture. Codification concept anchored in legislative or state documents (Act No. 270/1995 Coll. on the State Language of the Slovak Republic/Concept of Care for the State Language in the Territory of the Slovak Republic). Criteria of spelling, linguocultural reasoning and linguistic self-awareness. Status and use of the state language in the territory of the Slovak Republic in the field of education. Influence of the educator on the formation of pupils\' language habits (explicit vs. implicit pedagogical influence). Classification of language errors and language innovation. The idea of pure Slovak and the principle of the Golden Age. The problem of language change and codification updating. The culture of teacher\'s speech. Prosodic properties of speech and their functional use in teaching.
