Course topics: 1. Fundamentals of legal theory of social security law: concept, functions, fundamentals and principles of social security law, characteristics of social security legal relations. 2. Elements of the insurance system of the Slovak Republic: origin of change, termination of insurance relations - insurance categories and personal scope of public health insurance. 3. Elements of the insurance system of the Slovak Republic: levy (contribution) obligation of premium payers in social insurance systems and in the system of public health insurance, including cases of exemption from this obligation. 4. Sickness benefits and their payment. 5. Characteristics of Slovak pension systems: systemic and organizational elements and differentiation criteria of the three pension pillars. 6. Basic and derived pension benefits: benefit scheme and benefit formula (i.e. acreage) of basic pension benefits, benefit schemes of survivors\' pension benefits, pension schemes of pension benefits of 2nd and 3rd pension pillars. 7. Accident benefits and their payment: benefit schemes and formulas of individual accident benefits and their functions, benefit scheme and formula of unemployment benefits and its payment. 8. Contributions of the state social support system. 9. Legislation on the provision of assistance to an individual in material need, the guiding principle of subsidiarity and its legal expression, the institute of the subsistence minimum, the definition and assessment of material need of a group of household members, the benefit in material need and contributions in material need. 10. Conditions for the provision of compensation for the social consequences of a severe disability, the provision of selected financial contributions for the compensation of the disabled, assessment activities aimed at compensating for the adverse consequences of the disabled persons. 11. Basic framework of providing social services with a focus on a person with an unfavourable health condition, assessment activities for the purpose of assessing dependence on social services, legal aspects of providing social services and methods of its payment. 12. Social regulation at EU and ILO levels.
