Course topics: 1. Introduction to the study, definition of concepts. 2. Rules for international relations. 3. Principles of amicable relations and cooperation. 4. Foreign policy. 5. National authorities for international relations. 6. Foreign policy behaviour of states. 7. Philosophy of international relations, realism, liberalism, Marxism, alternative theories. 8. History of international relations: the period from the earliest times to 1648, the period from 1648 to 1814/1815, the period of the European concept 1815 - 1918, the Conference in Versailles and the interwar period 1918 - 1939. 9. History of international relations: the period of the Second World War, the emergence of the bipolar world 1939 - 1947, the Cold War, the disintegration of the bipolar division of the world 1947 - 1990, the post-bipolar world after 1990. 10. International relations in the 21st Century. 11. Foreign policy of the Slovak Republic - the role and place of the Slovak Republic in the current geopolitical space. 12. The position of Czechoslovakia and Slovakia in international relations from 1918 to the present.
