Course topics: - Language and speech. - Speech communication, spoken language, speech production and speech organs. - The importance and function of the sound plane in the communication process. - Introduction to phonetics and phonology as part of systemic linguistics. From the history of phonetic-phonological research. - Formation, nature and classification of vowels from phonetic and phonological point of view. - The system of German vowels, diphthongs and consonants. - Comparison of the graphemic and phonological systems of German. - Sound construction of fluent German speech - analysis of individual suprasegments (speech segmentation - syllable, word, phrase, sentence). Accent, melody, rhythm. - The process of acquiring correct German pronunciation (orthographic and prosodic peculiarities of German, exceptions to the rules). Didactic principles and procedures for the acquisition of the phonetic aspect of the German language. - The concept of \"pronunciation error\" in German (Aussprachefehler, Fehleranalyse), transfer and interference, correction and ways of eliminating pronunciation errors. - Analysis and practice of selected typical phenomena of German pronunciation. Comparison of different pronunciation, assimilation, reduction and other processes in German and Slovak. - German transcription, identification and practice of transcription features in selected text types; work with pronunciation dictionaries.
