Course topics: • Textual linguistics in the system of linguistic sciences, definition, subject and tasks of textual linguistics; • Text as an object of study in linguistics, types of text, morpho-syntactic and stylistic structure of text, new media and text; • Textuality and its criteria, internal and external criteria of text, analysis of textual material, hypertext; • Text as communicative action, theory of speech acts, locutionary and propositional acts, definition, forms, use in text; • Illocutionary and perlocutionary act, definition, forms, use in text; • Levels of linguistic meaning, meaning and textuality, hidden meaning - implicatures; • Intention of the text and its realisation through linguistic means (parenthetic verbs, modal words, sentence adverbs, etc.); • Textual analysis, methods of textual analysis, analysis of specific texts; • Referential problem, coherence, cohesion, anaphora - typical features, forms; • Cognitive processes of text comprehension, thematic progression, its types, analysis of thematic progression in texts; • Maxims of quality, quantity - their interrelation within the semantic structure of the text, violation of maxims of quality and quantity, maxims of relation and maxims of modality; • Deixis, its definition, meaning and functions, analysis of texts from different genres.
