Course topics: 1. The concept of disability, definition of disability, Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. 2. The right to life in the context of disability. 3. Legal capacity, guardianship, supported decision-making, guardianship law reform. 4. Political rights in the context of disability, legislative and physical obstacles to the exercise of the right to vote. 5. The right to privacy and family life in the context of disability, interference with reproductive rights, sexual assistance. 6. The right to education, school integration and inclusion, challenges and obstacles to inclusion, special education. 7. Work and employment, employment services, sheltered work, social economy. 8. Independent living, personal assistance, social services, deinstitutionalization of social service facilities. 9. Social assistance and protection, compensation for severe disability, assistance in material need, subsidies to support humanitarian aid. 10. The right to health protection in the context of disability. 11. Reform of long-term health and social care, WHO tools – WHODAS 2.0, WHO Quality Rights Toolkit, Component 13 of the Recovery and Resilience Plan of the Slovak Republic. 12. Discrimination and its forms, anti-discrimination lawsuit.
