Course topics: The social and legal protection of students is thematically oriented mainly to the position of the student in the higher education system and in the social security system (in the insurance system - to the conditions for participation in sickness, pension insurance, health insurance and unemployment insurance, including their cash benefit coverage and health care, e.g. student mothers, students as dependent children, student - graduate in the employment services system; in the state social support system - to the conditions for providing state social benefits related to family policy and in the system of social assistance in situations of social or material need). Thematic areas: 1. Social policy and its characteristics (principles, functions, entities and instruments of social policy). 2. The right to education and its international and constitutional dimension. 3. The position of the student in the higher education system. 4. Characteristics of the health system (construction principles, basic objectives and entities). 5. Health care (its classification, availability, scope of reimbursement). Basic systematics of health insurance. 6. Characteristics of social insurance (social events and their classification, insurance subsystems, categories of insured persons). Insurance and benefit relations in social insurance. 7. Benefits covering pregnancy and maternity of a student and parenthood of a student. The institution of child dependency and its application to a student. 8. Conditions for obtaining pension rights by students in the pension insurance system and in the old-age pension savings system, including the characteristics of both systems. 9. Unfavorable health status of a child - student. The status of a student with an unfavorable health status in the social assistance system. 10. The status of a student in employment relations (especially in an employment relationship and in agreements on work performed outside of an employment relationship). 11. Registration of job seekers, graduate internships and job placement, intermediate labor market. 12. Solving material needs.
