Practical Aspects of Interpreting for the Deaf (XSJKNB032)

Course topics: Theoretical part - topics: Analysis and reflection of interpreting performance (analysis of recordings, constructive and effective feedback team bonding, supervision, self-reflection). Psychohygiene in the interpreting profession (active rest, learning opportunities, interpreting dilemmas, burnout syndrome, setting boundaries). Team interpreting (working with a Deaf interpreter in a team, joint training, the role of supervisor and coordinator in a team, cooperation with colleagues). Artistic interpreting and other specific areas of interpreting (court interpreting, translation of artistic texts, interpreting from a letter). Tactile interpreting with deafblind people. Practical part: Various activities and exercises designed for translation or interpretation.
