Distribution and taxonomy of bacteria 2) Physiological flora and microbiome 3) Structure of the bacterial cell, cell wall of bacteria 4) Movement, growth and reproduction of bacteria 5) Metabolism of bacteria. Genetics of bacteria. 6) Virulence and pathogenicity factors, bacterial sporulation, exo/endotoxins 7) Pathogenesis of microbial disease. Human physiological microflora, colonization vs. infection. 8) Antibiotics, antibiotic resistance and biofilm 9) Methods of preventing the spread of bacteria (review).
