Course topics: The students´ main task is to negotiate specific treaty based on the case study project given during the initial classes. The course is divided into a short theoretical part and a substantial practical part. The theoretical part covers the following issues: 1. Vienna Convention on the Law of Treaties (1969), its scope 2. The process of an international treaties conclusion 3. Entry into force of international treaties 4. Observance, application and interpretation of international treaties 5. The amendment and modification of international treaties 6. Invalidity, termination and suspension of the operation of treaties 7. Diplomatic and business protocol 8. Negotiation practices. Practical (substantial) part of the training consists of negotiations leading to conclusion of an international agreement making use of the Diplomatic and business protocol and negotiation techniques.
