Course topics: The course will focus on those comparative aspects of private law that support the scientific research and development of civil law in selected parts of the system of private law. Topics: - Roman and German law, common law and their general characteristics, with special regard to private law - methodological questions of comparative law, methodology of the Common Core project and other similar academic projects. In other thematic areas, the analysis of selected institutes of private law and their reflection in the relevant legal systems will take place. The study will focus on German law, reformed French contract law, Swiss civil code, caselaw and UK law, from recent codifications the Dutch and Czech Civil Code, the Estonian law of obligation. - the right of persons - rights in rem - contract law (conclusion of contracts, performance, remedies for non-performance) - tort law - unjust enrichment - inheritance law Particular attention will be paid to the Europeanisation of the private law under the influence of the implementation of European law and the way in which individual states approach the related issues of national legislation.
