Course topics: The course takes place in the form of 4-hour blocks every two weeks in English and Slovak (elaboration of written assignments and texts only in English), while each block focuses on a specific skill or issue necessary for academic legal writing. Students will learn specific methods of academic writing (CREAC, IRAC, etc.), which will make it easier for them to express complex legal arguments. At the same time, students will be allowed to work during course with their actual assignments, on which they work in other academic or extra-curricular activities (semester papers in other subjects, articles, assignments for moot courts, etc.). Crucial part of the course is an individual approach with personalized feedback on the submitted texts. The aim of the course is to master the differences of English professional texts in comparison with Slovak texts. The individual blocks consist partly of lectures, but especially of workshops, simulations, brainstorming, research, etc.
