Course topics: The course focuses on the presentation and consultation of current issues in EU law. Following an individual consultation with an individual PhD. student, the student will present the EU law aspects of his/her scientific research. These aspects shall be subject of a legal analysis with regard to aspects of EU law. The following issues of EU law and the functioning of the EU will be covered in full-time teaching: historical milestones in the development of EU law and the discussion of proposals for new legislation, including the challenges facing both the EU itself and the EU law. An important issue will be the relationship between the functioning of the EU institutions and their impact on the development of the EU legal order, with a focus on the decision-making process of the Court of Justice of the EU. Full-time teaching will be devoted to current legislative developments in selected areas.
