Course topics: The course focuses on current topics related to labour law in terms of decision-making by national courts or the EU Court of Justice. The aim is to point out the current fundamental decisions that complete labour law in its application practice (e.g. in the area of working hours, holidays, termination of employment, illegal employment) as well as to discuss in general the importance of court decisions for interpreting selected provisions of the Labour Code in terms of Euro conforming interpretation, which is omitted in practice. A clause, which is a transposition of EU law, must not only be interpreted in a national context, but must also bargain for the objectives of EU law and the arbitrating of the EU Court of Justice (new EU directives in the definition of \"employee\" already directly refer to the case law of the EU Court of Justice in this area). The lecturer will present newer judicial decisions in the field of labour law and will discuss their impact on labour law in the Slovak Republic with students - e.g. the necessity to change the legislation, to change the existing interpretations in law and in law theory, as many of the Court\'s recent decisions distort already used interpretations. Students will utilize the knowledge in their future theoretical activities and the application practice.
