Course topics: 1) Familiarization with the organization of work in internal medicine departments, surgical departments and compliance with occupational health and safety. 2) Provision of nursing care using the nursing process method. 3) Analysis of human needs in nursing care, medical history, physical examinations. 4) Determination of nursing diagnoses. 5) Planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care. 6) Practicing and independent implementation of nursing techniques under the supervision of assistant professors and clinical practice mentors: - Care of devices - disinfection, sterilization, care of a hospital bed. - Prevention of nosocomial infections. Coordination of the entry hygiene filter and provision of anamnestic data and physical examinations of a person suspected of having an infectious disease. Cooperation with other healthcare workers in monitoring epidemiologically significant strains of hospital infections and mechanisms of their resistance. - Hygiene care. Nutrition care. Recommend basic diets within the scope of the dietary system when admitting a person to hospitalization. Care for emptying. Insertion and removal of a rectal catheter for draining liquid stool. Care for patient mobility. - Monitor and record physiological functions, make an ECG record. Monitor and assess the ECG record in the scope of - quality, heart rate and heart rhythm, if the nurse identifies pathological values or changes, informs the doctor. - Apply drugs orally, by injection, through the skin, through body openings, by inhalation and monitor their effects. - Prepare infusion, transfusion and assist in their administration. - Demonstrate methodologies and techniques for collecting and transporting biological material for examination. - Correctly apply dressing technique. - Prepare devices, patient and assist in nursing, preventive, diagnostic and treatment procedures. Indication and execution of suturing of a small surgical wound and removal of stitches from a primarily healing wound. 7) Recording data in nursing documentation and use of information technology. Admission, transfer, discharge of the patient. Decision on placement of a person, including a newborn, on a bed according to hygienic and epidemiological principles. Visit. Cooperation with other healthcare workers in fulfilling strategic and operational goals in the nursing department. 8) Training in appropriate verbal and non-verbal communication with the patient and his family. Application of health ethics in clinical practice. 9) Use of nursing theories and conceptual models in clinical practice. 10) Training in cooperation in a nursing team. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to achieve strategic and operational goals in the nursing field. 11) Practice independent decision-making under the supervision of assistant professors and clinical practice mentors. Ability to develop effective leadership and decision-making skills. 12) Evidence-based nursing practice and research and e-health. Knowledge of technical innovations related to health and nursing care methods.
