Course topics: Concept, subject matter and sources of family law, basic principles of family law and the Family Law Act, principles of the best interests of the child, formation of marriage (dissolution of marriage, circumstances precluding dissolution of marriage, nullity of marriage, legal consequences of nullity of marriage, marriage of convenience), content (relations between spouses, community of property of spouses) and dissolution of marriage, determination of paternity, determination of maternity, determination and denial of paternity of the mother’s husband, parental rights and obligations, child’s obligations towards parents and family, interference with parental rights, substitute care for a minor child, foster care, institutional care, guardianship and custody, maintenance obligations, social protection of children and social guardianship, adoption, inheritance, court proceedings related to family law.
